1936-1942 Proof Washington Quarters
Starting in 1936, the Philadelphia Mint resumed production of proof coinage for collectors. These coins were offered either individually or within a set, including one for each denomination. The proof coins struck from 1936 to 1942 have much lower mintages than proof coins of later eras.
